A National Football League Hall of Famer widely regarded as one of the best defensive linemen in NFL history, Howie Long has spent more than a decade analyzing pro football for Fox NFL Sunday.  In 1997, he received the Emmy for his work as Outstanding Sports Personality/Analyst and has appeared on ESPN’s Up Close, HBO’s Inside the NFL and NFL Diary, and NBC’s NFL Live.  Long spent his entire 13-year pro-football career with the Oakland Raiders and holds the team record with eight Pro Bowl selections.  He currently is an active member of his community, giving his time to numerous charitable organizations.

  • Received the West Coast’s Father’s Day Council “Father of the Year” award
  • In 2003, became a member of the American Cancer Society’s Public Awareness Council
  • Established a scholarship fund at Villanova in honor of his grandmother to benefit underprivileged children from the Boston area, and hosts a golf tournament each year to raise funds to benefit this scholarship
