Andrew Ross Sorkin

Announcing: Special Program with Andrew Ross Sorkin

What really brought Wall Street to its knees in 1929?

And could it happen again?

The Richmond Forum will host award-winning New York Times journalist and DealBook founder, Andrew Ross Sorkin, for a special program tied to his new book, “1929: The Inside Story of the Greatest Crash in Wall Street History.” The book will be released in October, just days before his Richmond appearance.

7:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Altria Theater

In a gripping evening of insight and storytelling, bestselling author and financial journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin will take The Richmond Forum deep inside the most infamous market collapse in history. Drawing from his highly anticipated new book, “1929: The Inside Story of the Greatest Crash in Wall Street History,” Sorkin will unpack the cascading decisions, unchecked ambition, and human folly that turned a roaring boom into a catastrophic bust.

With the same narrative force that made “Too Big to Fail” a modern classic, Sorkin will connect the speculative frenzy of the Roaring Twenties to the financial systems of today, revealing unsettling parallels and offering a powerful reflection on risk, psychology, and the seductive illusion that “this time is different.”

Connect with Richmond’s business community while learning about the historic financial collapse that continues to shape our economy and the parallels to today we can’t afford to ignore.

Sponsorships and hospitality packages include premium seating blocks, brand exposure to a high-value audience, and access to VIP networking receptions. Packages are limited and expected to move quickly.
